   We don’t need to tell you, the veteran, that our second amendment to the Constitution is under vicious attack.  To make matters worse, the feckless GOP has done little to nothing to stave off this unconstitutional barrage of democrat = communist withering fire.  The Republicans had the House, the Senate and the Oval Office and squandered that gift from the American People.  Now we are seeing an unprecedented number of bills pushed by Pelosi’s House to erode our right to defend ourselves and our Constitution from enemies both foreign and domestic.

    It’s what they do.  They grouse about the wording, the definition of militia, etc…A few examples of this erosion are:  HR820, 821 and 822.  We urge you to do two things: 1) look up and read the language, and, 2) contact your representatives and, in a civil manner, present your argument against this encroachment, this infringement on our right to keep and bear arms.

   On a brighter note, Representative Richard Hudson, NC 8th District, sponsored a refreshed bill on National Reciprocity. Though general consensus gives little chance of its passing, the bill is a step back toward sanity.

We must note here:  why would the Founding Fathers believe it necessary to include specific language to protect the government’s military-state and federal-firearm’s rights (as the left contends)?  It makes no sense whatsoever. Constitution signer John Dickinson wrote that inalienable rights such as self-defense were rights “which God gave to you and which no inferior power has a right to take away.”  James Wilson called it “a new security” for the right of self-defense that God had already bestowed on every individual. And finally this last entry, for the sake of time, for there are many more, “[T]he advantage of being armed [is an advantage which] the Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation. . . [I]n the several kingdoms of Europe . . . the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms”. James Madison, U.S. President, Signer of the Constitution, a Framer of the Second Amendment in the first congress. The first ten amendments, the Bill of Rights, are fundamentally rights recognized as inherently God given and are not granted by any government, but are to be protected by the government. 

    There are two ways in which the Constitution is interpreted, one made famous during the 2000 presidential debates.  Al Gore (and others like him including Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.), believe that the Constitution is a living, breathing document that, “must be considered in the light of our whole experience and not merely in that of what was said a hundred years ago.”  Chief Justice Charles Evans Hughes:   “We are under a constitution, but the constitution is what the judges say it is”.  In other words it must evolve to suit our needs today. 

     The other way is to interpret by original intent. To keep and obey the Constitution with the meaning conveyed at the time of its writing.  Activists, especially activist judges, twist and torture the Grand Law to mean whatever suits progressive wants.  

   The ninth and tenth amendments, though not nearly as well known, leave no doubt as to whom the Bill of Rights is addressed-let’s shake the dust off and take a look:   

Amendment IX

The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

Amendment X

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people

   Take the time right now to read and explain these ten essential rights to your children and grandchildren so they will have the foundational knowledge needed to counteract the propaganda foisted upon them by most public schools.  

   We at Vets in the Fight® will continue our grass roots efforts to not only have common sense legislation passed in North Carolina, but also continue urging vets to vote, support first time candidates and hold our elected officials accountable, no matter the party.

8 Mar 2019 SITREP Intersectionality – Part I

Hello all you Vets in the Fight, this is David Miller, with your weekly Special Operations Speaks, Vets in the Fight SITREP.

The Congressional Red-Green Axis

   The dictionary definition of Intersectionality is “the complex, cumulative way in which the effects of multiple forms of discrimination (such as racism, sexism, and classism) combine, overlap, or intersect, especially in the experiences of marginalized individuals or groups


   [Kimberlé] Crenshaw introduced the theory of intersectionality, in the late 1980s, the idea that when it comes to thinking about how inequalities persist, categories like gender (another leftist non-biological term), race, and class are best understood as overlapping and mutually supportive rather than isolated and distinct. We have a shorter, somewhat more succinct definition:  a driverless cultural passenger train barreling headlong into an F-5 tornado.  

   The path leading to today’s notion of intersectionality is rather long and tortuous. Many years back we began to hear the word diversity bandied about. Innocuous enough sounding; who doesn’t appreciate a diversity of resources or the diverse grandeur of our beautiful country? This new diversity was but an omen of things to come.  Since the late 1930s communists and those they have influenced have worked tirelessly to realign our vocabulary to suit their progressive agenda. Victor Davis Hanson explains, “Democrats used to be “liberals.” The context being free, as in free thinkers not burdened by oppressive traditions.   Gradually, the term progressive eclipsed liberal, (in part because conservatives often referred to themselves as “Classic Liberals”. And so was too close for comfort.)   Progressive infers an activist, not a neutral, ideology—one that is always moving the country in the supposedly correct direction”.  Progressive, then means progress.  Haven’t we all been taught that progress is good?  If we are conservative then, the unsaid conclusion is, that conservatives hate progress.  But Democrats look at progress from a purely cultural standpoint.  A quick look at their etymological evolution is proof that they couldn’t care less about American’s standard of living. For example:

Global cooling begat global warming which begat our current climate change.  This is suspect science at best.  Illegal aliens became illegal immigrants which in turn morphed into undocumented immigrants followed rapidly by the purposely ambiguous migrant.  We suspect that soon any who attempt to enter or enter our country illegally will be labeled as “asylum seekers” regardless of their actual intentions.  The sanctuary state of California and the multiple sanctuary cities have already acquiesced to this command in full-faced defiance of the law of the land and America’s security.  Again, Victor Davis Hanson puts it succinctly, “The reinvention of vocabulary can often be more effective than any social protest movement”.  Through the decades vocabulary has been very effectively used on the forward edge of progressive battle lines.  Diversity in the 1970s gave birth to multiculturalism, thus accelerating the watering down of traditional American values.  The very core of what made this nation what it is today; exceptional.  Multiculturalism brings with it a sense not of assimilation but of identity politics.  That is, that each individual group, based on the fluid notion of gender, ethnicity, race or sexual orientation has the inherent right to demand from those not subscribing to this progressive dogma specialized treatment and privilege not found anywhere in our Constitutional foundations.

   Not to rest long on their laurels, progressives sought to take advantage of their social and political leverage by evolving yet again into intersectionality. Seeing an opportunity to propel their cause to ever greater heights, intersectionality seeks to coalesce disparate groups with widely ranging goals to attack America from all sides and bring about the eventual destitution of socialism and its inevitable pogroms.  

The cover story was that the aforementioned oppressed and marginalized groups would, in a victorious and pious voice, once and for all be heard above the din of their tormentors. Any and all could come and join their righteous cause;  and so they have.  The real shame is that so many buy into their fiction.  The actual objective is to oppress and marginalize those of us who believe in our Republic and stand with her.   The wonder of this is how this movement, this incoherent band of strange bedfellows don’t tear each other apart.  Though we do see some discordance within the ranks, the havoc they wreak far outweighs the nominal cost.  Stay with us for part two next week.

OK, I’m angry

I am sick and tired of the Left in this country. They are a bunch of cry babies with the intelligence of a gnat. They preach love and tolerance and hate everyone.

I am sick and tired of secular liberal college professors, who couldn’t survive 24 hours in the real world, telling me how to live. They say they teach higher education when, in reality, it’s lower education than my grade school. They are so dumb that they haven’t even figured out that in a world they would create, they would be the first eliminated.

I am sick and tired of being told we are all going to die in 12 years if we don’t do exactly what the Left says…give up electricity, air conditioning, flying, and the cars in my garage…especially by people who don’t know squat about the subject matter. Many of the so-called climatologists that have signed on to the insanity just want to keep their funding.

I’m sick and tired of Beto O’Rourke…just because, and AOC for the same reason! They are weird media creations designed to help turn coveted Texas blue and have a representative in New York that does what she is told by her handlers.

The Left is never concerned with outcome, only appearances. The Left hasn’t given a second thought to unintended consequences of turning our country socialist. They supported banning DDT and felt morally superior about it. But, they had no feeling either way about the millions of people that died because of it and the new insecticides are proving more harmful to mammals than DDT. They banned logging in California and, as a result, they now have massive wildfires because the forests are inundated with overgrowth…and we lost the spotted owl anyway. 

I am tired of the main stream media not giving me the facts in the news but insisting on giving me their stupid opinions and assuming I agree with their idiocy.

I’m tired of politicians more interested in protecting their political rear ends than protecting their constituents. They show a phony remorse and concern for illegal aliens (for political purposes) even though thousands of Americans have been murdered, robbed, and assaulted by too many of them. They disgust me.

I’m sick of political correctness. It is a dangerous and mindless conformity that will take the place of new discovery and thinking. Our university system is most guilty, admitting inferior students because they are aggrieved, leaving superior students out in the cold.

I’m tired of seeing aberrant conduct being sold as normal behavior.

I can’t stand that the Left’s truth changes with the wind. Everyone, especially children, need an unchanging truth.

I am tired of hearing the Left condemn Fox News for their bias, but don’t mind ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, CNN, or PBS for their bias. 

I’m tired of this country’s judicial system being made impotent for politicians with the right connections. Democrats are trying to get Trump for a crime they can’t find while the Clinton’s go around scot-free for crimes that are hiding in plain sight.

I’m tired of politicians demonstrating their ‘righteous indignation’ over illegal alien children being held in temporary custody while, at the same time, they support and promote the mass killing of millions of innocent babies in and out of the womb and insist we pay for it.

I’m sick of hearing about the gun problem in this country when it’s a criminal problem. They desperately want to confiscate our guns so they can have their way with us.

I’m tired of President Trump being blamed for everything that goes wrong in the world.

I’m tired of Democrats coming up with stupid ideas almost every day like letting 16-year-olds vote…the same 16-year-olds that eat detergent pods. The same 16-year-olds that are mal-educated, misinformed and totally without life experience. I can only imagine how Democrats would try to make themselves attractive to these make-believe adults…maybe free tattoos and concert tickets. I wasn’t even happy about 18-year-olds voting. OK, if you’re in the military, you can vote. 

I’m tired of listening to the Left tell us that free speech is hurtful and must be restrained while the best antidote for hurtful speech is more free speech.

I’m tired of the Left’s contempt for the millions of Americans that didn’t vote their way. They didn’t even bother to discover or care why the other half voted as they did.

I’m sick of the Democratic 2020 candidates’ race to the bottom of the barrel.

I’m tired of people who can’t figure out what gender or race they are. I can’t stand this nonsense that I have to pretend a man is a woman or vice versa just because that person has massive delusions and worry that I’m going to be arrested for greeting him or her with the wrong pronoun. I’m tired of being forced to live in their very weird world.

Before Obama became president, race issues where a thing of the past. After he took office, I found out that, as a white person, me and 200 million others were irredeemable racists and needed re-education.

I hate their identity politics, being split up into tribes by race, gender, religion and political party and if you are in the wrong basket, you are called deplorable.

I’m tired of the trends and fads that Leftists create, whether its letting ‘men’ race in an all-girls 100 meter, or the vulgarity of their art. And if you don’t jump into their bandwagon, you’re a hater.

I’m tired of their shallow morality and virtue-signaling as their indication of a phony high intelligence.

I’m tired of hearing about their latest crisis. And when I don’t show equal alarm and anxiety, they show me disdain.

I’m tired of hearing about restitution for black slavery when my family and millions of others didn’t arrive here until after the Civil War ended.

The Left will say nothing when an Islamist throws a homosexual off a roof, but is outraged when a Christian will not bake a cake for a homosexual wedding. They will never ask a Muslim baker to do the same thing.

The Left is turning our country into another 1930s Germany. Thanks to them, our freedoms are now genuinely in danger. The Left has turned away from truth so they naturally have pivoted toward lies. They will believe in any myth that puts God and America in a bad light. They believe in sloppy science and history books written by leftist bogus historians like Howard Zinn who wrote ‘A People’s History of the United States’. They will always take the word of the serpent slithering along the apple tree as truth, because, after all, God is a hater. God is indeed a hater, but not of people, but what they do. 

Yes, I have a MAGA hat and plan on wearing it. If anyone thinks I’m a hater, they would be right. I hate stupidity. 

I think I’m feeling better now.

Today, Wednesday, 13 March 2019, kick’s off the Veteran Patriots Action Conference (VPAC), a 501 (c) (19), Veterans Organization. The topic for the day is the Veteran and the Second Amendment in at the Civic Center in Southern Pines, NC. The first in a 2019 series of Second Amendment-focused problem-solving seminars, this one focuses on public school and campus security, and what the combat veteran might bring to the increasingly demanding task. 

The panel will consist of SOS’s Dave Miller, US Army Special Forces retired; Mr. Chris Maples, Eastern North District Director for U.S. Rep Richard Hudson (R-NC); Chief Arthur Frye, Chief of the Moore County North Carolina Schools Police Department; Ms. Maureen Kreuger, District Attorney for Moore County North Carolina; Mr. Dwight Creech, Calvary Christian School; John D. Zumwalt, US Army Special Forces Retired; Victor Allen, US Army Special Forces Retired; and Jeff Drummond, US Marine Corps retired. Ken Benway, US Army Special Forces retired will moderate.
