SITREP 22 Dec 2018, Naughty and Nice

Hello all you Vets in the Fight, this is David Miller, with your weekly Special Operations Speaks, Vets in the Fight SITREP.

Here we are now just a few days before Christmas.  It seems to come around so fast that we hardly have time to catch our breath before we’re readying ourselves for the beautiful holiday again. After Easter, Christmas is our most important holiday of the year, and rightfully so.  It’s a time for family and friends to gather together and remember our Judeo-Christian heritage and grow in Faith, to rekindle friendships, to share in the bounty of this most exceptional nation.

And, in keeping with another tradition, we’ve borrowed a little from a familiar Christmas song and made a list of who’s naughty, because a growing number of misguided folks hate what Christmas stands for;  and who’s nice, because they deserve the attention the media will not give them.  The lists are very, very long, so for the sake of time, we’ll just hit the wave tops.

We’ll start with the naughty ones and save the good-hearted ness for last, so here goes. We must start with the Democrats.  With no real platform of their own except to oppose all things fundamentally American, Schumer and Pelosi have led their party down a dark and twisted road to global Socialism which, in turn, has given us the next-gen of Democrats like Ocasio-Cortez.

Next up is the darling of the Left:  Planned Parenthood founded by Margaret Sanger in the 1920’s, an avowed eugenicist and racist was originally known as the American Birth Control League.  It has since evolved into a leading abortion provider, instructor of perverted sexual practices for youth and receives hundreds of millions of taxpayer funding thanks to its many powerful lobbyists and lucre-driven politicians.

Two of those politicians are next in our catalog of the corrupt:  Bill and Hillary Clinton. Oh, where to start! An early acolyte of Saul Alinski, Hillary hitched her dung wagon to Bill’s charismatic star and travelled from the woods of Arkansas to the swamp of DC.  From Whitewater to Travel Gate to Uranium One, these two have enriched themselves at great cost to national security and a long trail of ruined lives. They should be deported to Venezuela immediately.

Speaking of politicians, our next target is:  the Federal Government.  Waste, fraud, kick-backs, scandals of every stripe are so common that a day without a report of some DC shenanigans seems somehow odd. Waste alone can fill a book.  We suggest OPENTHEBOOKS.COM.Allow us one example: From FY’s 04-17 mistakes and improper payments distributed by 20 agencies amounted to $1.2 T.

Last on our menu of miscreants is the aide-de-camp to all the above:  The media.  So feckless, so biased are they that even actual journalists are running from them. Their year of self-matyrdom ended with Time announcing journalists as person of the year.  Poor put-upon snowflakes.

We could go on for hours, but quite frankly, we’re sick of taking about them.  So let’s move on to some real Americans.

First, our Military. Thousands deployed even now for Christmas, making real sacrifices for country and family.  Willing, at all times, to defend our nation wherever duty calls. We owe our very existence to the generations of these brave and selfless servants who promised, and sometimes gave, all that liberty might prosper.  Please keep them and their families in your prayers. Our next choice is likely someone you’ve never heard of:  Brian Kolfage A 37-year old Air Force veteran and triple-amputee, Brian has started a “We the People will Fund the Wall” GoFundMe campaign with a goal of raising $1B.  Sick and tired or Washington’s games, Brian, through his campaign, has raised nearly $8M as of 20 December.  This true Patriot has not let his formidable injuries prevent him doing what Washington can’t.  Bravo!

The Gary Sinise Foundation.   Supporting the families of fallen heroes, preparing and serving thousands of meals, building specially adapted smart homes for the severely wounded and suicide prevention programs and much more, Gary’s foundation works tirelessly as servants to Veterans, First Responders and their families. Go to GARYSINISEFOUNDATION.ORG and give, if you can.

We here at Special Operations Speaks and Vets in the Fight© wish all of our veterans and especially our Brothers and Sisters in Arms deployed a warm and blessed Christmas surrounded by family, friends and comrades.  We value you all. YOU are our purpose and we are proud to have served with you and serve you now.

Keep up the good fight.  Remain steadfast and know that ours is a righteous fight.  This is David Miller for Special Operations Speaks and Vets in the Fight everywhere.  Until next week, may God Bless us and our exceptional Republic.  De Oppresso Liber.

SITREP 15 December 2018 We Lose a Friend, America Loses a Hero

Hello all you Vets in the Fight, this is David Miller, with your weekly Special Operations Speaks, Vets in the Fight SITREP.

We were well into writing a different SITREP late Thursday morning, when retired Air Force Lieutenant General Tom McInerney notified us that Admiral James A. ‘Ace’ Lyons had passed away peacefully in his sleep, at age 91, less than two hours before.  After the shock settled in, we decided to change our approach and dedicate this SITREP to the memory of a colleague, friend and national naval hero.

Admiral Ace Lyons was born in Perth Amboy, NY in 1927. He attended and was commissioned from the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis as an ensign in June 1952 as a Surface Warfare Officer.  Lyons’ 36-year career was a tour de force of command assignments ranging from captain of a destroyer, deploying to the Middle East during the Six Day War, sustaining close ties to that volatile part of the world throughout his career, and into civilian life.   Admiral Lyons served as Chief of the U.S. Saudi Naval Expansion Program.  He rose to four-star Command as Commander-in-Chief U.S. Pacific Command, the largest geographic command in the U.S. military. He served as Deputy Chief of Naval Operations as well as Senior Military Representative to the United Nations.

In civilian life, Lyons established Lion Associates LLC, a professional consultancy.  He sat on the boards of several corporations.

Special Operations Speaks first introduction to Admiral Lyons came with the Benghazi crisis that saw four Americans killed under when

Department of State faulty security planning and procedures left the classified compound vulnerable to armed Libyan factions which overran the facility on 12 September 2012, killing an ambassador and his communications specialist at the outset, and two former Navy Seals who put up a ten-hour fight to defend the position.

Under the auspices of the Accuracy In Media news agency, SOS joined a dozen members of varied background, to include the senior member, Admiral Lyons, on the Citizen’s Commission on Benghazi (CCB) which produced two extensive reports on the circumstances and decisions surrounding the Benghazi tragedy.

In February 2016, Admiral Lyons was our keynote speaker at the Veteran Patriots Action Conference in Charleston, South Carolina, where he held the auditorium spellbound with his insights into the key decision-making processes Washington in times of crisis, to include the Iran Hostage Crisis.

With the transformation of the CCB into the Citizens Commission on National Security (CCNS), Admiral Lyons gripped the bit in his teeth and dove into the op-ed arena with renewed energy.  His articles in the Washington Time and the Canada Free Press targeted with the key friction points the emerging Chinese threat to key naval and commercial sea lines of communication in the South China Sea; Russia and its aggression against the Ukraine; the continuing impasse of Syria; and his strategy for the Ukraine.

In James A. ‘Ace’ Lyons, the Nation has been gifted a full measure of honor, dedication, insight, energy and boundless intellect. And, we who have been privileged to have worked under his tutelage, come away grateful for the opportunity to learn from a master of grand strategy.

Admiral Lyons was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, René Chevalier Lyons, by only five weeks, and who passed away suddenly on 1 November 2018.

Our prayers go out for the Lyons family.

Burial will be at the U.S. Naval Academy at a date and time to be announced.

Keep up the good fight.  Remain steadfast and know that ours is a righteous fight. This is David Miller for Special Operations Speaks and Vets in the Fight everywhere.  Until next week, may God Bless us and our exceptional Republic.  De Oppresso Liber.

An American Warrior Passes … Admiral James ‘Ace’ Lyons

Special Operations Speaks is deeply saddened to announce the passing of a true American Warrior, Admiral James ‘Ace’ Lyons. Adm. Lyons was our senior colleague on the Citizens Commission on National Security (CCNS) and a friend of Special Operations Speaks.

Admiral Ace Lyons meets then-presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson in 2016

He passed away peacefully in his sleep at 1000 hours this morning, 12 December 2018. Admiral Lyons was warrior through and through, and a strategic thinker whose equal will not be easily found.  In a nearby photo is the Admiral meeting with then-Presidential Candidate Dr. Ben Carson during our Veteran Patriot Action Conference (VPAC) in Charleston, SC in February 2016. Admiral Lyons lost his wife of 64 years, Angel Renée Chevalier Lyons, on 1 November of this year. Please pause for a prayer for this great American and his spouse. Funeral arrangements are pending.

SITREP 8 December 2018 — Remembering American Heroes

Hello all you Vets in the Fight, this is David Miller with your weekly Special Operations Speaks, Vets in the Fight SITREP.

But for a few hours, America called a truce this week, a truce among warring political and cultural factions to honor a good man, a brave naval aviation hero, and an honorable president, George H. W. Bush.  H. W. came from a generation that still believed in noblesse oblige, that extra measure of service owed to America by those whose acumen and good fortune permitted them luxuries far beyond that of the average man. Unlike the almost-bizarre and unending pomp and circumstance of the politically driven interment of John McCain, the ceremonies at the National Cathedral, while finely crafted over years in anticipation, had a strong element of sincerity.  The speakers, from former Prime Minister, Brian Mulroney of Canada’s, eulogy for both a president and close family friend, to the tension-breaking delivery of former Senator Alan Simpson, to the final eulogy for his dad, by former President George W. Bush, the nation drew a bit closer in a family closeness, shared a tear at the Nation’s loss of a good and patriotic son, and came away better men and women … except for Hillary Clinton.

While the spirits of Washington, Lincoln and Reagan bowed their heads, like Tolkien’s orks, Mueller’s so-called investigators continued churning their corrosive Deep State work pursuing their version of the Holy Grail, the prized scalp of Donald J. Trump.  These #FakeAmerican inhabitants of Mordor on the Potomac provide

Americans one more peek into the tragedy that has befallen the Republic and become the shameful DC standard. Equally disturbing is the forty or fifty percent, or so, of us that have bought in to this delusion.

Unable to convince anyone of any repute about the manufactured myth that Donald Trump colluded with the Russians, while burying the true collusion and collaboration between Russia and Clinton, et al, a lie was commissioned by Barak Hussein Obama, Hillary Clinton and the DNC, supported in their bold-faced felony by the FBI, by the intelligence community, by Departments of State and (chuckle) Justice.  Perhaps the recent report of Clinton Foundation whistleblowers coming out of their dank lairs is true and we’ll see actual justice served for the American people. Even so, each agency is in need of wholesale rebuilding, with principles selected from beyond that contaminated zone inside Mordor-on-the-Potomac’s I-495 Beltway.  Vet’s in the Fight, anyone?

On December 7, 1941 Americans woke to different, and nearly as destructive as our present Government coup d’état, surprise and unprovoked attack by the Japanese Empire, an empire whose leaders vastly underestimated the power and determination of the Americans of George H.W. Bush’s day. A significant portion of the US Pacific Fleet lay overturned at the bottom of Pearl Harbor.  Known only to the rescuers, the desperate SOS tap, tap, tapping of trapped sailors from inside those hulls, signals kept secret from the pubic for days until the taps ceased for eternity.  Millions of young American men and women, each fully expecting to exercise life, liberty and to pursue happiness put their dreams on hold and stepped into the breech next day at military recruiting offices all across America for the duration of a four-year war in both hemispheres, plus one year.  H.W. Bush’s actions were captured on film, a young torpedo plane pilot floating in a one-man raft bobbing to the side of an American rescue submarine in the Pacific.

On the other side of the world in Italy, an American infantry lieutenant in the 10thMountain Division, Robert Dole is cut down, shot through the back and the right shoulder, never to use that right hand again.  Seventy-four years later, Senator Bob Dole dipped deep into his 95-year old reserve and stood to render a sharp salute to a colleague, both men brought together from distant theaters to lead America in their own ways.

We salute our brothers and sisters, past, present and future on this Pearl Harbor Day.  Japan has virtually revised the history of those savage years of conquest in East Asia, such that their students have no idea what took place on 7 December 1941. American history programs seem not far behind the Japs.  Maybe someday in the not distant future, when our generation is not around to recount the feats of bravery of our fathers and grandfathers, the historical revision will be completed, leaving only silence behind.

Keep up the good fight.  Remain steadfast and know that ours is a righteous fight. This is David Miller for Special Operations Speaks and Vets in the Fight everywhere.  Until next week, may God Bless us and our exceptional Republic. De Oppresso Liber.
