An American Warrior Passes … Admiral James ‘Ace’ Lyons

Special Operations Speaks is deeply saddened to announce the passing of a true American Warrior, Admiral James ‘Ace’ Lyons. Adm. Lyons was our senior colleague on the Citizens Commission on National Security (CCNS) and a friend of Special Operations Speaks.

Admiral Ace Lyons meets then-presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson in 2016

He passed away peacefully in his sleep at 1000 hours this morning, 12 December 2018. Admiral Lyons was warrior through and through, and a strategic thinker whose equal will not be easily found.  In a nearby photo is the Admiral meeting with then-Presidential Candidate Dr. Ben Carson during our Veteran Patriot Action Conference (VPAC) in Charleston, SC in February 2016. Admiral Lyons lost his wife of 64 years, Angel Renée Chevalier Lyons, on 1 November of this year. Please pause for a prayer for this great American and his spouse. Funeral arrangements are pending.

  1. A great Patriot has crossed the bar. A speaker of truths to those in power. A great and good man since my first contact with him in Cold War Germany 1983 when I was serving a tour within the Federal German Navy. He was CNO (OP-O6). He brought me into the Pol-Mil program after that meeting. This nation has lost one of its best defenders. I was there with him at the VPAC. He remembered me after so many years of direct contact had passed. My heart is heavy for this nation.
Fair Winds and Following Seas, Admiral.
